The key to soothe anxiety lies in taking control of your thoughts before they overtake you...

One of the best ways to do this in a moment when things get too overwhelming is to remind yourself that Allaah will solve all your problems, take care of you, and everything will end well in the end.

Here are 3 Du'aas to recite over and over until you feel better when anxious.

Du'aa for anxiety 1

Oh Allah! I hope for Your mercy. Do not abandon me to myself even for the blink of an eye. Correct for me all my affairs. There is none worthy of worship except You.

[Abu Dawud]

Du'aa for anxiety 2

Sufficient for me is Allaah; there is no deity worthy of worship except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

[Quraan, 9:129]

Du'aa for anxiety 3

Allaahumma 'innee 'abduka, ibnu abdika, ibnu 'amatika, naasiyatee biyadika, maadhin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qadhaa'uka, 'as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, 'aw 'anzaltahu fee kitaabika, 'aw 'allamtahu'ahadan min khalgika, 'awista'tharta bihi fee 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, 'an taj'alal-Qur'aana rabee'a qalbee, wa noora sadree, wa jalaa'a huznee, wa thahaaba hammee.

Oh Allaah! Indeed I am Your servant Son of Your male servant and female servant, My forelock is in Your Hand, And Your Judgment upon me is assured, and Your Decree upon me is just, l ask you with every name that You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book (Quraan), or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, that you make the Quraan the life of my heart, and the light of my chest and the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.

[Ahmad]
